More about Jordan: I currently work as an editor and paginator at The Keene Sentinel in Keene, N.H. The Keene Sentinel is a daily local newspaper that covers the Monadnock Region. In this role, I put oversee our weekly Business section that runs in our Saturday paper, proof and lay out pages for our weekday papers, put together a significant amount of our 40-page Saturday paper and work with one reporter as weekend editor to cover events, monitor breaking news and publish content on our website and social media. I am also currently working as a freelance writer for RWU’s Marketing & Communications Department. My role at The Sentinel is a rare opportunity for a young journalist to learn more about the entire newsgathering and production processes. I have always thought of myself as a writer (who can sometimes get a quality photo to go with the story). But following graduation I encountered several opportunities to become a more well-rounded journalist for the benefit of myself and the newspaper I was working for. So now I can write a story if needed, or update the website, or hop into InDesign and construct pages that will soon be in the hands of thousands in the community. There is such a sense of pride in being able to help in any way that I can, and I owe who I am to the incredible people who have taken the time to mentor me. Some fun facts about me: My wife and I (we’re both RWU alumni) got married at GHH last May. I love to run half marathons, especially the one in Bristol. And I just took a trip with my family to the Azores (my grandmother immigrated when she was 14).
