Monday Shadow Visit Experience: 9:30 am - 10:50 am: EDU 357 - Inclusive Practices Special EdIn this course, prospective general education teachers and education professionals examine the characteristics of students with the most prevalent disabilities and learn about differentiating instruction in K-12 mixed ability classrooms. Considerable time is spent reading about, and discussing the educational rights of children and adolescents with disabilities, and the legal obligations under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The primary emphasis in EDU 357, however, is on what research indicates about how best to plan, manage, and evaluate learning effectively in diverse inclusive classroom settings. Thursday Shadow Visit Experience: 3:30 pm- 4:45 pm: ME 352 - Number SystemsThe course explores and develops multiple connections within school mathematics by focusing on number systems (both in base and numeral system); fundamental topics of number theory; proportional reasoning; and vector and matrix operations. The course will also provide a historical perspective for the development of number, number systems and quantity by weaving in the history of numeration systems.
