Shadow Visit Experience Course Options Monday Class Options: ENGR 417 - Foundation Design: 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM Foundation design involves the design of the structural elements interfacing with the ground to provide satisfactory support. This course explores different aspects of foundation design and expands on the knowledge gained in soil mechanics. Principal topics covered within this course include subsurface exploration, as well as analysis and design of shallow foundations, deep foundations, and earth retaining structures. Tuesday Class Options: ENGR 420 - Transportation Engineering: 11:00 AM - 12:20 PM This course provides students with an introduction to the principles of transportation engineering with a focus on highway engineering and traffic analysis. Areas covered include vertical and horizontal alignment, curve fundamentals and design, principles and design of flexible and rigid pavement, binder grading systems, traffic flow theory, queuing theory, and simulation for traffic modeling.
