PH 201 - Public Health Essentials: 11:00 AM - 11:50 AM
This course addresses the question: what is public health with an introduction to the concepts, principles, and practices of public health, students will examine the historical and current role of public health institutions and the biological, social, behavioral, environmental, and cultural determinants of health. An overview of tools used to assess, control, and prevent disease will be put into the context of current public health threats and the future of public health.

PH 265 - Foundations of Epidemiology: 12:00 PM - 12:50 PM
Epidemiology is the scientific study of the determinants and distribution of health and disease and therefore provides the basis for the design of public health policy, interventions and education. In this course, students will learn how to describe patterns of population health and disease, design and interpret studies to analyze these patterns, evaluate evidence for causal factors in disease, and understand strategies for preventing both chronic and infectious diseases.
